Looking into Bea’s expressive eyes is all it takes to have her steal your heart. She is estimated to be 3-4 years old and needs to gain some weight, since she is currently only 46 pounds. Her original owner went into a nursing home and his neighbors brought her into their home. After three years with her next family, she was surrendered to a local shelter. They shared they were no longer able to continue the expense of special food for her skin sensitivity. We are working closely with our vets to determine the etiology of her skin problems so she will not only return to her beautiful self but to also feel better.
The family’s 4 children (8-16) adored her and reported that they never had any behavior issues. She was excellent with the kids and also fine with other dogs and appeared to do fine with cats she met, although she was the only pet in the home. Bea is housebroken and never needed to be crated and never demonstrated any destructive behaviors when left alone. She loves dog toys, especially tennis balls but they are not very durable. She’s pretty mellow but gets energized when her people come home. Top all these great attributes with her good manners. Bea responds to: sit, stay, shake, other paw, and down. Her happiness is derived from being with her people, and we hope she will not have to wait very long for her forever family.
