UPDATE

6/19/19 FOSTER UPDATE: Oh my gosh, Abe is really coming around. He can now sleep in his crate at night or while I’m away and he doesn’t have to be 2 feet away from my feet during the day. He is learning to trust and loves people. The other dogs to just fluff it doesn’t bother him to have them around, but he does not react to them in any way. His eyes are relaxing and not as wide-eyed as before. He is totally housebroken and so sweet. Fostering is priceless!

At five years of age, Abe was part of a stray pack, but it appears he was the only to survive and it was believed people shot the other dogs. Consequently, this incredibly sweet dog remains fearful of loud noises and impending storms, but he adores people and does well with other dogs. Due to neglect, he lost most of his teeth but loves his blanket and favorite ball. He was with a family for the last six months, but they were not comfortable with his fears and potential anxiety. He really is a loving dog who needs a family to help him build confidence so he will feel safe. He has definitely had far too many challenges in his short life and we hope he can find the right home soon so he can settle where he can feel safe and comfortable.
