Bama’s owners were heartbroken to surrender him, but they realized once their 3rd child arrived, that they just weren’t able to manage an energic dog, 2-year-old, 96-pound dog who didn’t have a fenced yard to play. They described him as a “big baby without a mean bone in his body”. He has a fabulous temperament, just isn’t aware of his powerful size and can unintentionally knock over a young child. He knows a few commands and consistent reinforcement will be a great benefit. Along with some weight loss and food management, he also needs to be neutered which should temper his playful exuberance. They said he has some allergies and medication helps, and he readily and gently takes his meds. Add on that he loves his bathtime, and we know we welcomed a very nice dog into our care.
