1/10/2021 UPDATE: Beans arrived safely to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Hey everybody – I’m Beans! I’m two years old and weigh 80lbs. I’m a biiiiig boy…even bigger than my brother, Butch! We arrived to Cincinnati Lab Rescue together. I’m so excited for both of us to have this chance to find our forever homes!
Beans’ journey to CLR began at the Haywood County shelter in Tennessee. He and his brother were both frequent flyers here, and were last brought in after they got into a tussle with some neighborhood chickens and their owners didn’t come for them. Luckily, we were able to break this repetitive cycle by arranging for their transport to Cincinnati!
Beans does well with other dogs and people. Due to his size, we think he may be best fit for a family without small children. He does not know how to walk on a leash yet, and will need a family with the patience to teach him. The volunteers who transported him said he’s a total lover and knows to respond to “no” if he barks. It’s time to find this big boy a home where he’ll receive the love and attention he deserves!
Medical Note: Beans is Heartworm positive. Unfortunately, we treat a staggering number of dogs for heartworm each year that aren’t kept current on preventative care. Beans will begin his heartworm treatment on 1/20. He can still go home with you and your family, but will need to continue to be seen for treatment and lay low while he’s on the mend.
