Meet Boomer!  He is a 1 year old, 52lb chocolate lab that was found stray.

Personality:  Boomer was very shy and timid when he first arrived to rescue.  After spending some time in foster care, he is starting to come alive!  He is sweet and affectionate….he is a total snuggle bug!  He is great with humans and other dogs.  He became fast friends with his foster sibling.  He loves toys and bones and is starting to show more of his personality each day!

Training:  He is housetrained and crate trained.  He doesn’t know many basic commands but he is working with his foster.  He is eager to please so he should learn quickly once he builds some confidence.

Updates

Boomer is doing well. He is going in and out of the house easily. No accidents.  Crates fine when I run out for errands.  Doesnt know any commands but we are working on “come”.
Still very insecure and needs to feel safe. Slept in bed 2 nights. Doesn’t like loud noises, cars or anyone coming up behind him.
We are working on leash walking. Each time we go out he goes a little farther.
He is a chocolate lab chewer so he now has some new chew toys…and gets redirection when he gets my slippers.
He is so sweet and loving.

Boomer and my dog are doing well together. They played out in the yard together and with the neighbors dog.

I have left Boomer in the house uncrated for short periods of time and he has been fine.

We are all working on “come” and him walking into the house without any issues.

Hopefully this week,  we will be able to work on leash walks.
