5/9/2021 UPDATE: Charlie arrived safely to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Hi…my name’s Charlie! I’m 4 years old and weigh 55lbs. I had an extremely rough start to life, but I know I’m in good hands now at Cincinnati Lab Rescue. I’ve been waiting years for a family that will reciprocate the unconditional love I show others. Come meet me!
Charlie was originally reported as a stray in Cookeville, TN. Several days later he showed up on the shelter’s property too weak to run away. They were able to catch him and give him the care he so desperately needed. This sweet boy was emaciated and covered in ticks. He is recovering from a gunshot wound to his leg, and our vets suspect they may find another bullet under the skin of his back once he’s fully vetted.
Charlie is an absolute sweetheart! He does well with cats and other dogs. The volunteers who transported him to Cincinnati said he wasn’t thrilled to get in the car, but rode very well once loaded. He is perfect on a leash…no pulling or weaving! Charlie loves to sit on your lap and flood you with kisses. He is a bit mouthy when he’s playing, and will need his future family’s help in that area. He didn’t seem to know any basic commands, but he is coming from a pretty terrible situation so it’s to be expected. He loves humans and attention and will be a great member of the family! It’s so important to us that this boy go to a patient family who will shower him with the love he’s been missing out on his whole life.
