Drifter, a beautiful 1.5-year-old has never known the benefit of a forever loving family. His original owner moved and left him behind. He was then just being temporarily passed around from place to place until someone reached out for help, knowing this was just so unfair to him. Add on that all the numerous supposed caretakes, apparently did not take care of him. Since arriving at CLR, he has been treated for worms, neutered, vaccinated, and receiving ongoing care for Demodex mange, which will improve before very long. The consequence, he is very shy and just beginning to open up. According to our experienced volunteer, although Drifter is shy, he is very sweet. He is a sweet dog who does enjoy cuddle time. He shows just a little interest in other dogs, and he meets them well but is not quite ready to engage in playtime. Since he is currently rather shy, it is difficult to asses if he is just a laid back and relaxed dog or if in time he will display more energy and playfulness. This 63-pound beauty will likely need patience and time to understand he is finally safe and finally found his forever home.
