Meet Hero! He is a 7 year old, 100lb chocolate lab that was surrendered by his owners after they no longer had time for him. Upon arrival and vetting, CLR discovered that he was severely neglected and arrived with a number of medical issues. He is currently be evaluated for double ACL tears, chronic skin issues, and a mass on his shoulder. We are working to get a better understanding of his prognosis.
Personality: Hero is a gentle giant with a calm, soulful presence. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest simply being near his people. He’s great with other dogs and has lived peacefully with cats, too. He doesn’t chew, isn’t destructive, and loves riding in the car.
Training: Hero was crate trained until age 3 but hasn’t needed a crate since — his manners are excellent. He’s trustworthy in the house, never gets into anything, and responds well to gentle guidance. His training needs are minimal; he’s easy to live with and eager to please. What Hero needs most is a warm, connected home where he feels included and loved.
