Layla is an energetic 2 yr. old , 45 lb. beauty who is house trained, good on a leash, and is good with both dogs and cats.  She is treat motivated which is great for training purposes.  Layla likes the outdoors and desires daily exercise.

FOSTER UPDATE

Layla’s favorite things to do are playing ball, snuggling and going for walks. She is happiest when she is around people and still hasn’t met a stranger! She is doing much better with controlling herself when playing (not using her mouth as much).   Also, she has mastered the command “leave it”.  Layla has a very entertaining personality and is so smart.

FOSTER UPDATE

Layla loves everyone she meets! She is good with kids and other dogs. She is playful, energetic and great on a leash. She knows how to “sit” and is quickly picking up on “lay down”, “leave it” and “stay”. She does have puppy-like behaviors and is very curious, but should be easy to train as she is very food motivated.  Layla is such a good girl!!

FOSTER UPDATE

This week, we had Layla all to ourselves as we were dog sitting last week. She is a very good girl, and as much as she loves other dogs, we are seeing her calmer, sweeter side this week. She continues to excel at house training (0 accidents!) and going in her crate (best foster we’ve had so far with this).

We are still working through her puppy-like behavior (jumping and mouthiness). We are making progress, but she could probably benefit from additional training. She has some energy, but most of the time she is happily napping, chewing her Nylabone, or exploring the backyard. She absolutely loves going on walks and perks up when she hears us get the leash out.

Layla is well on her way to being the best girl!

FOSTER UPDATE

We have had Layla in our home for the past three days and she continues to settle in.

There have been no accidents, so she seems to be fully house trained. She willingly goes in her crate each night, sleeps through the night and keeps it clean. We have been able to have Layla with other dogs. She loves to play with them and never seems to run out of steam! She would do best with another young, energetic dog, as she can get a little rough with her play at times. Also, I think she would do well as the only dog in the house. We have not introduced her to cats or children.

Layla is doing quite well on a leash and can easily walk 3-4 miles. We are working on “with me” command as she tends to get excited when we encounter anyone and wants to jump on them. She seems to be getting the hang of it. Also, she knows “sit” and we are working on “stay” as she tries to dart out the door whenever it is opened. So far, she is not a barker. We haven’t even heard her bark once.

This little girl is full of energy and personality and I think she will make a great companion!
