Orlando is yet another dog who was found wandering the streets seeking refuge. A kind lady fostered him until he was able to be taken in by our TN advocacy group who made sure he landed with CLR. He is estimated to be two years old, and like some many who join our pack at CLR, is heartworm positive. He will begin his treatment soon and should be absolutely fine post-treatment. He isn’t very large at only 60 pounds, but all 60 pounds of him definitely impressed his transporting team.
According to our amazing transporter, Sarah, ” Just *look* at this face. No doubt that Orlando is a happy fellow! Our volunteers who were part of his rescue kept commenting on how he truly looked to be smiling on his freedom ride. His joyful disposition in the midst of a lot of change tells us he is only going to continue to flourish in a new, forever home. We can’t be 100% sure of his training background, but he appears very eager to please. He knows a few basic commands but just needs some gentle reminding on follow through. He was a great travel companion with another 100+ lb rescue buddy, but would have preferred to be closer to his pup pal or to his volunteer; just not a huge fan of being crated, and who could blame him? We imagine he would prefer to have his sweet face hanging outside the car window to watch the world go by! Orlando would likely benefit from an active individual or family, whom he could look to keep up with by day and rest by their feet at night.”
