We adopted our Ozzy in January 2003. He was rescued from a woman who was hoarding dogs on her property, and our sweet boy spent the first 7 months of his life tied to a rock with little food or water. We were told he was the first starvation case to arrive at the rescue. Ozzy was in need of some serious manners and went through a training program with flying colors. He knew several commands and even knew how to “speak”. He delighted us with his antics and would play dead and under arrest upon hearing his commands. He was such a joy and loved going on walks, but when we headed toward home, Ozzy would look up at us as if to say, “ Hey can I walk myself now?” We would fold the leash, put it in his mouth, and he would prance proudly back home. Although many dogs know when the 5:00 dinner hour rolls around, but It was always 5:00 for Ozzy, constantly eager for a meal or treat…24 hours a day! We still smile through our tears remember the joy he brought to our home, and he will truly be missed.
