9/6/2021 UPDATE: Retford arrived safely to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Woof – I’m Retford! I’m 4 years old and weigh 70lbs. I love going for car rides and hop right in your vehicle! The volunteers who transported me to Cincinnati said I’m the perfect co-pilot.
Retford was found stray in Clarksville, TN. He was covered in ticks when he was first brought in, but he’s all cleaned up and has been nursed back to health. He has a few sore spots where he’s still healing, but he’s such a good boy you’d never know he’s in any pain.
Retford was in foster care in Tennessee for a period of time and his foster said he’s an absolute dream dog! He stayed in his foster’s mudroom, and with the exception of one accident when he first arrived, he didn’t go potty inside at all. He will go into his crate but prefers to just lay around. Retford LOVES walks and already walks extremely well on a leash. He does well with other dogs. He may bark initially when first meeting new pups, but only because he’s friendly and wants the attention!
We haven’t had the chance to place Retford in foster with small children or cats. He had a brief interaction with a cat at the vet and was curious but didn’t show any signs of aggression. We received nothing but great feedback from the volunteers to transported him to Cincinnati as well. They took some fantastic photos on their way to Cincy, too – he sure is a beautiful boy!
