My name’s Scully! I’m 8 years old and weigh 70lbs. I LOVE being outside, and would be happiest in a large, well-fenced yard where I can roam! I’ve been told that soon I’ll go to a place called the Rainbow Bridge, where there’s plenty of sunshine and room for me to run free.
Scully is an extremely special case. He came to Cincinnati after spending months at a shelter in Mason County, KY. Unfortunately, this poor boy already had a sizable tumor growing on his back when we brought him into rescue. After several weeks of testing, our vets diagnosed Scully with two aggressive forms of cancer. At Cincinnati Lab Rescue, we will ALWAYS go above and beyond to help as many dogs as we possibly can. In Scully’s case, our vets are adamant that even with treatment these cancers will return. We are providing him with palliative care to keep him comfortable in the coming weeks. We are looking for a hospice adopter to show Scully the love he deserves as he navigates the final phase of his journey. The greatest reward of rescue is to change the course of these dogs’ lives, no matter how long they have with us.
Scully is very interested in small animals like squirrels and bunnies. Because of this, we don’t think he would do well in a home with cats. He gets along best with more submissive dogs as well. His favorite place is outdoors, and he dreads going inside. We’ve been told his love of the great outdoors makes him a bit of an escape artist, so he will need a home with a secure fence and a watchful eye! He’s completely potty trained and didn’t have a single accident during the brief time he was in foster. Scully loves his humans and wants to be near them at all times. He loves to snuggle on the couch. He also adores car rides…he tries to get as close as he can to whoever’s driving! This boy has had a very difficult life. It’s so important to us that he know good so those can be the memories he carries with him.
