UPDATE
10/24/19 FOSTER UPDATE: Sheba is still a very timid girl but doing much better on walks and isn’t interested in doing much if it’s not by my side and just wants to bury herself under anything at all in order to feel protected and safe. In order to get some sleep, I let her sleep with me. She’s so very relaxed and happy when she’s able to snuggle. She is a absolute sweetheart, just needs continued TLC.
Since she prefers being with me, her crate is not her favorite spot and I can’t give her anything while in the crate or she may destroy it in my absence. In time, as she feels safer, I imagine this behavior will diminish.
