12/28/2020 UPDATE: Sport arrived to safely CLR on 12/23/2020. Since Sport is coming from a stable home environment, he may go straight to adoption rather than going to foster. Check back soon for an update!
Hey there…I’m Sport! I’m around 3 years old and weigh 60lbs. I’ve been told I’d make a good hunting dog. I LOOOVE chasing squirrels and chipmunks. I love fetch too! I’ve heard I’m not good at catch, but I think I’m pretty great. I was originally adopted from Cincinnati Lab Rescue back in May 2018. While I’m super sad to be leaving my current family, I know I’m in excellent hands at CLR and trust them with my 2nd shot at finding a forever home!
Sport is a Lab mix. His owners believed him to be part and part Rhodesian Ridgeback. He’s being rehomed due to a relocation. We aren’t sure whether Sport does well around cats, but he’s great with kids and other dogs, though it’s important that he be the Alpha dog. He’s been trained on an electric fence, but he pushes the boundaries, so his collar should be kept on a relatively high level. Sport either wants to be on your lap or playing chase. He loves cuddling up and watching the world go by out the window. He thinks he’s a lapdog and doesn’t have much of an understanding of “personal space”.
Sport likes to say good morning by getting a chest and chin scratch, followed by a biiiiiig stretch. He loves the dog park and running around to check things out. He’ll sleep in your bed if allowed and will keep you nice and warm. He makes a great sous chef and enjoys watching you cook (especially if there are scraps on the floor!). Despite being a smaller guy, Sport loves big chewing bones and a hot dog or two…can you blame him?
Cincinnati Lab Rescue is a 100% percent volunteer organization and depends on donations and adoption fees. Without this, we could not possibly sustain our organization. Thank you in advance! Donate Now
