2/21/21 UPDATE: Willis went into foster a few days ago and is doing fantastic so far! His foster loves him. Check back soon for an update!
Hi friends…I’m Willis! You can also call me Bruce Willis – I respond to that too! I’m four years old and weigh 67lbs. I’m a sweet, gentle boy who loves absolutely everyone. I’ve been told I’m a MIRACLE dog! Read more about my story below to find out why I’m so special.
Willis’s journey to CLR began in Mississippi, where he was found stray and turned in to a local shelter. Everyone who has had a chance to meet him describes him as a calm and gentle soul. He’s happy, friendly, and an extremely loveable dog! Willis is excellent on a leash and doesn’t pull at all. He knows “Sit” and is working on growing more comfortable in his crate. He LOVES playing with toys and balls, and is such a good boy – he doesn’t chew anything other than his toys! Willis is doing well on housetraining as well.
During transport to Cincinnati, Willis was an excellent passenger and made the perfect shotgun rider up front. He did have to be lifted in and out of the car a few times, and anyone who has lifted him can confirm he’s a biiiiig boy! We know he’s going to make some lucky family so happy very soon.
Medical Note: Willis is our miracle. He tested positive for Distemper after being exposed 8 weeks ago. Many of his symptoms have subsided, but he is still being monitored for residual effects. He has been under quarantine from other dogs as a precaution. He will be seeing a specialist on 2/25 to gain a better understanding of any long term impact of the disease. We will continue to update the website with his latest medical information.
