3/20/2021 UPDATE: Forrest arrived safely to CLR two days ago. Check back soon for an update!
Hi all – I’m Forrest! I’m two years old and weigh 70lbs. I was originally found stray down in Kentucky. After spending so much time on my own, I’m SO excited to be in the hands of Cincinnati Lab Rescue and on my way to a loving family!
First things first: we have NO idea how Forrest hasn’t been adopted yet! He’s a super affectionate, sweet boy and has mastered the Lab lean.
The volunteer who transported Forrest to CLR said he was a very nice guy and an excellent rider in the car…he didn’t make a peep! We had a chance to get him out for a brief walk when he first arrived. He quickly became attached, and we would expect the same out of any adoption. We’re sure he badly desires attention after not having much of it for so long! Forrest did well on a leash considering it’s likely very new to him. As far as commands go, he responds to “No” and “Leave it”, but that is the extent of his basic training at this point.
Forrest seems very interested in other dogs, and we’ve been told by his Tennessee shelter that he got along well with his peers. We suspect he’s probably a social butterfly once he feels comfortable! He hasn’t shown much interest in toys or balls just yet. So far, his main driver has been different scents on his walk. We’re loving getting to know this boy and are sure he’ll be in his forever home any day now!
