Meet Dumplin! She is a 1 year old, 47lb yellow lab that was found stray in Kentucky.
Personality: This bouncy yellow Lab is a joyful burst of sunshine wrapped in fur! Dumplin is a happy-go-lucky girl who lights up every room with her tail wags and enthusiasm for life. She’s friendly with everyone she meets! She can be a bit dog selective so we are not recommending a home with small dogs.
Training: Dumplin knows the basics and she is housetrained. Dumplin is still a young pup and has a lot of energy, so she’s ready for a home where she can stretch her legs, get daily exercise, and learn some basic manners along the way. She’s still working on her manners, but with her friendly nature and zest for life, she’s sure to make a fantastic companion for someone who’s up for some fun and has time to help her thrive.
Updates
Dumplin is settling in and showing us more of her personality each day. She’s an active girl who enjoys running in the yard and going for walks. She really loves being around people and prefers to stick close to her humans whenever she can.
We’re currently working on crate training, but it’s been a challenge. Dumplin had a strong reaction to being crated—she managed to break out and now completely rejects going near it. We’re trying to reintroduce the crate in a more positive, gentle way. In the meantime, she’s been content sleeping on the couch at night.
Another area we’re working on is building her confidence with stairs. Right now, Dumplin will only go up or down about 2–4 steps and seems unsure of anything more. We’re being patient and encouraging as she works on her bravery.
One important note: Dumplin had a negative interaction with a small dog this week. We are recommending slow, careful introductions to other dogs, especially small ones.
Dumplin is a sweet, energetic girl who clearly wants to connect with people and is still finding her way. We’re continuing to work on her comfort, confidence, and social skills, and look forward to sharing more progress soon!
Dumplin is a crate-trained and potty-trained superstar, making her an easy addition to any home. She’s got the house manners down and is eager to please. Whether you’re headed out for a leisurely walk or just lounging on the couch, Dumplin is happy to be right by your side. She loves her strolls around the neighborhood, taking in the sights and smells, but she’s just as content curling up for a cozy nap at home.
What makes Dumplin truly special is her big heart. She’s affectionate, gentle, and full of love to give. With her calm presence and sweet nature, she’ll quickly become your favorite part of the day.
