Meet Dopey! He is a 7 month old, 51lb puppy that was surrendered by his owner due to puppy training needs.
Personality: Dopey is a joyful, floppy-eared bundle of sweetness who’s already stealing hearts in his foster home! This happy-go-lucky 7-month-old Lab/Hound mix is full of puppy charm and goofball energy, with just the right amount of cuddle-loving softness. He plays hard, naps harder, and loves nothing more than curling up next to his people after a romp in the yard.
He’s incredibly affectionate, thrives on human attention, and is starting to build his confidence through structure and routine. Dopey adores other dogs and is learning how to play appropriately—he’d do great with a dog buddy to show him the ropes!
Training: Dopey may not have arrived with much training under his belt, but he’s catching on fast! He’s very treat-motivated and already knows sit, down, and is making solid progress on stay. He’s also doing great with house training—just one accident since arriving, and that was right after being crated.
He’s learning to walk nicely on a leash but is still learning. He is a strong puller when excited (especially for walks!). With consistency and guidance, Dopey is eager to please and quick to learn.
He would do best with someone who has dog experience and can continue his training during these important developmental months. Dopey is soaking up love and structure and blossoming more each day—he’s well on his way to becoming a truly amazing companion!
