Updates

This little lady will be a dream dog. She’s low level energy indoors and loves all dogs and people. She is content laying at your feet or snuggling next to you on the couch. Filled out she’ll likely be around 50 pounds and is doing well in the house without any accidents. She is also getting used to her crate daily well. She will do great as an only dog or with a pack. Sweet is the absolute best way to describe her!

We have had Dasey for about a week and have learned lots about this amazing girl!  Here is are some details to share!

  • Extremely smart and responds well to a gently “no” with redirection when needed. Will pick up manners quickly with a treat and consistent training.
She WILL counter surf if food (or packages of food) are left on a counter, etc. (likely from being underweight and not having consistent food security).
  • She’s not a chewer when it comes to shoes, etc but she will pick them up and accumulate them in an area. I’d suggest she have a few soft toys for her along w some safe bones and comfy dog bed to sleep on when hanging in the house.
  • She is house trained and acts “antsy”and whiney when she needs to go out.
  • She is crate trained – yay!
  • She’s very gentle in all aspects except when getting treats.. she snatches treats quickly so beware if little fingers are feeding her a treat.
  • She does respect other dogs eating around her though and doesn’t attempt to get in their space.
  • She’s gaining weight nicely. I’ve been feeding her 2 cups twice a day but this can  be cut back at adoption to 1 cup twice a day (or whatever the vet recommends.).  She eats very fast so suggest a slow feeder bowl.
  • She loves my kids and will thrive with them if the family has kids.

She will make an amazing addition to any family but does need a family that has the time for her. She won’t thrive unless she has people to love on. I work full time so she’s been crated around 4-5 hours during the day though. She’s taken to my 4 year old lab and follows her around the yard and house.  She is such a great dog!
