Personality: Dexter is a goofy, happy-go-lucky boy has earned his nickname “Derby Dexter” thanks to his lovable personality and silly antics. Dexter is the kind of dog who walks into a room and instantly lifts everyone’s spirits. He’s always wagging his tail, always ready for love, and always making someone laugh with his goofy grin or clumsy zoomies. Dexter is a total people-lover—he adores attention and is happiest when he’s around his humans. He has already mastered the classic “Lab lean,” pressing in for affection and soaking up all the love he can get. Dexter is friendly with other dogs and seems to enjoy their company. His calm, easygoing nature makes him a joy to be around, and he brings a quiet happiness wherever he goes.
Training: While Dexter may not know any formal commands yet, he makes up for it with a gentle spirit and a willingness to please. He’s very treat motivated and takes treats with the softest mouth, which makes him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training. He walks surprisingly well on a leash and seems eager to learn with a little guidance and encouragement. With some consistency and continued training, this lovable boy will blossom into the perfect companion.
