UPDATE

2/27/22 FOSTER UPDATE: There are ONLY good things to say about Gulliver. He is absolutely the bestest boy! He’s been with me for a week and quickly settled into the household routine, including having a new dog sister and cat brother. Gulliver is 100% house trained and completely trustworthy outside of the crate while I’m at work. He’s super friendly and will stand at the couch with his head in my lap looking for head scratches for as long as I’m willing. He’s pretty laid back, but I can definitely see a playful side to his personality that will be fun to encourage once he completes his heartworm treatment. Gulliver wants me to tell you that he is done travelling and is looking forward to finding his forever home.

Just looking at Gulliver’s eyes is a good indication of his tender heart. He is wonderful with people and other dogs and since he is more mature, he’s potty trained too. He is 7 years old and 55-60 pounds. This sweet boy was in a desperate situation when his owner passed away. We often try not to share too much sadness, but his reality is that no family members were willing to open their home to Gulliver and planned to have him euthanized. He still has many years to enjoy life and love to share. When we learned about this situation, we jumped right in. For many of us, we relish the privilege of providing our seniors the very best.

FYI- we recently learned that Gulliver has tested heartworm positive and has already begun his treatment. Another reminder of the importance of administering monthly HW prevention.
