Handsome Hogan just passed his year birthday and he was recently surrendered by his owner because he didn’t have enough time to care for his dog. He’s a new arrival and he knows a few commands and takes treats very gently, but he is a very strong dog and although he knows to sit on command, he will require some manners to be established and others reinforced. His transporters described him as a loving, friendly dog, who has a lot of energy. An active family will be his best match and Hogan will love that extra playtime.
Note: It’s difficult to believe that as an AKC registered dog, the owner did not administer HW prevention, and we just discovered that Hogan is another Heartworm positive dog in our care. He began his treatment immediately and will be ready for adoption in a week. We have had excellent results with the 200 plus HW positive pups we have treated. The danger is when a heartworm positive dog does not receive the proper treatment. Again, we cannot stress enough the importance of maintaining a Heartworm prevention protocol.
