Hi – I’m Jewel (renamed Ivy by original family)! I’m only 5-6 months old. I’m may be smaller than my litter mates, but make up for size in personality. I have cute little freckles on my front paws. I’m sweet, snuggly, and well socialized…come meet me!
Jewel’s momma Molly was found pregnant by a Good Samaritan who took her in until she had her puppies. He was rehoming all four dogs outside of Walmart until someone within our rescue network explained the dangers. He then agreed to let the dogs go to rescue. We’re so thrilled they’re here and can’t wait to help them find their forever families!
This adorable little girl spent a few months with her adopted family, but their schedule did not coincide with the time to adequately train her. So, she reluctantly thought in Jewel’s best interest, she needed to find a more appropriate home.
We just received some additional information from her current family we would like to share:
Ivy is an adorable playful and independent 6-month-old girl. She currently weighs about 50 pounds. Ivy is potty trained and has learned basic commands. However, she is still very much a puppy and requires additional work on her manners, such as toy sharing and not jumping on visitors (dogs and people alike). She is also crate trained. She loves to play and run around outside and would make a great addition to an active family who has the time and consistency to continue her training. She can be somewhat stubborn but compensates with a lot of love. Like most labs, she is food motivated and a voracious eater. She is doing very well walking on a prong collar and loves all the smells. A fenced in yard is key for her, she needs either a privacy fence or a tall chain link to curb her explorative tendencies. Ivy is a sweet girl that deserves a family who is ready to engage in her activity and devoted to teaching her how to be her best self.
