Jigsaw Jack is a handsome 1 yr. old, 55 lb. boy who is very friendly to everyone he meets including other dogs.  Jigsaw Jack walks well on leash and is very calm.  He was a wandering neighborhood puppy that was taken care of by several neighbors but no one ever decided to adopt him.  This adorable fellow is ready for his forever companion and will provide lots of kisses and tail wags in return.

Updates

I know it’s cliche, but Jack has that “old soul” thing going on. He just wants to be near his humans. He’s very good at the “lab lean,” but he’s also happy just being close by, lying contentedly in his dog bed. It’s hard to believe he’s only a year and a half — until he gets the zoomies! Then it’s pretty obvious he still has some puppy in him.

Jack’s experienced a lot in the last day, and he’s done really well with everything. He rode really well in the car after climbing right in. He seems to be mostly housebroken, with only one accident right after breakfast (and we’re going to change the routine tomorrow to see if he can avoid that. He’s food motivated, and eager to please. He knows sit, and is making good progress with come and stay. He went into his crate pretty easily the first night. He whined for a little while but didn’t bark, and then was quite the rest of the night. He’s okay on a leash — he’s strong but doesn’t pull very often. He likes to stop and sniff a lot, but what lab doesn’t? He understands how stairs work (which is more than I can say for about half of our fosters). He’s shown no inclination to counter surf or beg at the table, and the only thing he’s chewed on is a rubber Kong bone. He doesn’t have much interest in fetching. He had a bath today, and did pretty well with that.
