Johnny is a 7 month old, 38 lb (underweight) sweet, adorable puppy as captured in the video below. He came from a TN shelter so needs leash training as a leash is all new to him.  He has a fun personality, playful, good with dogs and treat motivated which is ideal for training purposes.  Johnny rides well in cars.  He is ready to shower his new family with love and kisses in return for giving him a new wonderful life!

FOSTER UPDATE

My friend came over late this morning and I was not around when he let Johnny out of his crate. My dogs had already greeted my friend and Johnny did see their greeting.  Johnnye had zero issues with my friend, so I don’t think he’s ever met a stranger!

FOSTER UPDATE

So Johnny’s been here now just over a week and he’s settling in wonderfully!

He is crate trained; though he’s not so great with my command to go in the crate (Home), he willingly will go in when a treat is in the back. He does well in his crate overnight and whenever I need to leave the house.

He is solidly on his way to being house trained. He’s only had two accidents, both in his crate.

His leash skills are much better, though there is still room for improvement. He met my neighbor yesterday on our walk yesterday and initially he barked at her, though he quickly decided she was a friend.

He knows the “sit” command, but still needs some reinforcement with it.  He is 50/50 with a direct “come” command, but willingly follows my dogs when they are called back.

He really loves to wrestle and run around with my younger dog. I think he’d do well with another younger dog.

I found out this evening that he loves bananas, so much so he’ll eat them off the counter.

FOSTER UPDATE

Johnny has been here since Monday afternoon on 3/28 and he is doing great. He is crate trained and is well on his way to being house broken. His only accident was the first day and was in his crate; though he’s had a couple excitement dribbles.

He loves nyla-bones and stuffies. He doesn’t seem to be much into eviscerating the stuffies; he likes carrying them around and squeaking them. Also, he is good about releasing toys when I take them.

He definitely is food motivated but does not displayed any resource guarding tendencies. He does take treat nicely!

He has definitely improved his leash skills as does not pull. In addition,  I have been working on his manners, specifically his jumping and potential counter surfing. He is definitely still a puppy with the exuberance and curiosity that goes with it. He loves to run around in my yard, but is also loves cuddling on the couch. So a good balance of active and lazy!

He does alert bark when he hears the neighbor’s dogs bark or when I have a delivery. So I think he’ll be a fairly quiet dog, but still let you know when someone is at the door.

He gets along great with my dogs. He tries to cuddle with my old guy, who tolerates it for a bit. He gets along with my cats as well.

He’s got so much potential. I can’t wait for him to find his forever family!
