Meet Poe! He is a 6 year old, 110lb dog that was dumped by his owner in Kentucky. He was taken by a Good Samaritan to the shelter and now is on his quest for a forever home!
Poe is a friendly and happy boy who loves everyone he meets—both people and other dogs alike! His easygoing nature makes him a joy to be around, whether he’s making new friends or just hanging out with his humans. Poe’s cheerful personality and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful companion for all kinds of families.

Poe is very overweight and it does affect his ability to get around. He is on a diet and we are slowly getting him walking several times a day. He was 110LBS when we picked him up last Friday. He has some sores on his elbows and ankles that are healing. He also has a few bare patches in his coat. All of this appears to be from rubbing.
That being said, Poe is actually a pretty happy guy. He loves being around people and cherishes any attention that comes his way. He gets along just fine with our dogs. He is not completely housebroken and has had a couple of accidents – but we are working on that and he is doing much better.
Poe is food focused, but does not resource guard or try to get into our dogs food.
No doubt he would be eternally grateful to anyone that helped get him healthy and moving again.
