Meet Sparkle! She is a 1 year old 41lb lab mix that was found stray.
Personality: Sparkle has a bright, playful spirit and a heart as big as her paws. Weighing in at about 40 lbs, she’s a fun-loving girl who enjoys romping around the yard, especially with other dogs. She’s got a sweet nature and means no harm, but her playful energy can sometimes be a bit much for smaller pups—she just doesn’t quite realize her size! Sparkle hasn’t met a person she didn’t like and has a soft spot for attention and affection. She’s happiest when she has the freedom to move, explore, and play, so a fenced yard is ideal for this energetic sweetheart.
Training: Sparkle is house trained and knows some basics. While she’s not crate trained and doesn’t care for cages, she rides well in the car—curled up on a doggie bed like a pro. She hasn’t had much leash experience yet, so she’ll need a patient adopter willing to slowly introduce her to walks and new environments. She’s eager to please and smart, so with the right support and positive reinforcement, Sparkle will absolutely shine.
If you’re looking for a playful, loyal companion who’s ready to grow with you, Sparkle might just be the one to light up your life!
Updates
Sparkle has been an absolute joy since we brought her home yesterday afternoon. Here’s a foster update!
Sparkle is a sweet, loyal, and slightly ridiculous mixed-breed pup with a cloud-like white coat and a serious love for her people. Possibly part Great Pyrenees with a hint of lab if you squint hard enough, she gives off big dog energy in a much more manageable, fun-sized package. She’s smaller than your average lab and not expected to get much bigger, making her ideal for someone who wants the fluff without the full-scale footprint.
She’s a certified velcro dog—expect her to stay close. Like, very close. Sparkle walks beautifully on leash, always at your side (or glued to your ankle), and loves meeting neighbors and their dogs. She’s been friendly and polite with every pup she’s encountered so far.
Sparkle is house-trained and working on her routine. Her potty cues are subtle—think slow-motion circling with quiet urgency—so it helps to stay tuned in. She’s currently recovering from her spay and dew claw removal and wears a cone at night with dramatic dignity. She also sleeps in bed with her foster mom and settles in like she’s always belonged there (which she believes she does).
Her hobbies include chewing antlers, gazing lovingly at her humans, and shedding generously. She may show a little protectiveness over food or treats, so she’d benefit from structure around mealtimes and someone who understands boundaries are built with kindness.
Crate training? Uncharted territory. She hasn’t tried it yet, and we’re not sure how she’ll feel about it. But in the home, she’s been calm, curious, and quick to adapt.
Sparkle would thrive in a home where she’s part of the action and not left alone for long stretches. She’s sweet, quirky, low-key clingy, and just the right amount of weird.
If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick with fluff, feelings, and a slightly dramatic flair—Sparkle might just be your girl.
