Birdie is a 2 year old, 5olb lab mix that found herself in a shelter in Mississippi.  She was scheduled to be euthanized due to over-crowding, and our rescue network brought her to safety.  She was in foster care down south for a few weeks, and she has been absolutely thriving!  She is a very happy and playful girl and has the best temperament.

She knows all of the basics and is house and crate trained.  She also knows some basic commands like sit and shake.  Yay, Birdey! She loves to go for walks and does well on a leash.

NOTE – Birdey is Heartworm positive and will begin treatment soon.  CLR will cover the expenses associated with treatment.

Updates

When Birdie arrived to me a few weeks ago, she was a little nervous.  Everything was new and exciting for her.  I quickly learned that she needed a crate and she still loves it to this day.

She has come so far with her routine and now is relaxed with me and my 2 dogs.  She loves to end the evening with some couch cuddles.

She went to daycare while I was at work and the staff agreed that she was one of their most well-behaved pups. I walked her quite a bit on the weekends, and she LOVED it!  She walks pretty well, but she can get distracted by squirrels from time to time.  She will play fetch as well but only when my dogs play with her.

She loves all today abut mostly the stuffed toys.  She loves pulling all of the cotton out!  She has also enjoyed chewing on bones and kongs.

Birdie can be a bit fearful wen getting in cars, but we spent a few weeks helping her feel more comfortable.  She has made so much progress!  Once in the car, she rides really well.  I am confident that she will continue to progress as she transitions.

We have loved our time with this sweet girl!
