Meet Gabriella!  She is a 5 year old, 98lb  chocolate lab that was surrendered by a breeder for chasing chickens.   She is overweight and would likely be healthiest around 80-85lbs.

Personality: Despite her shy and timid nature, Gabriella is making huge strides!  She is starting to warm up in her foster home. She is incredibly dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other furry friends.

Training: Gabriella is still learning the basics, but she is a very quick learner and is eager to please.  She is making progress on house training, crate training, and some basic commands. With patience and positive reinforcement, she will flourish in a structured environment.

Ideal Home: Gabriella would thrive in a calm and patient home environment where she can continue to build her confidence. A family willing to provide gentle guidance and support as she adjusts would be perfect for her.

Updates

Gabriella has been in our home for about 72 hours and she is already a very different dog from the dog I transported on Tuesday.  When I first met her, she was scared, shy, and apprehensive of every transition.  Even though she has come a long way, she still is shy and can get scared.  We are working on trust.  When I met her, her tail was firmly tucked beneath her.  I have seen her wag her tail, get the labby wiggles, and even show some excitement for toys and bones.  Her behavior in the last few days is very promising.  I know that she will make someone very happy.  She is food motivated.  She did very well on her first walk.  We even encountered an excitable dog on our walk and she showed no aggression and stayed by my side.  She gets along very well with her foster fur siblings.  She is kind of a chill girl.  We are working on potty training but because she is so food motivated, I see her being successful in no time.  She does not love her crate but is getting used to being in there when we are not home and sleeping at night.  She really is a sweet dog.  I think she will only show more of her fun personality in the days to come.
