5/30/2021 UPDATE: Lisa arrived to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Hi friends…my name’s Lisa! I’m 2 years old and weigh 70lbs. I LOVE to swim and play soft frisbee. I’m a good girl with babies and young children, and am submissive towards other dogs. I’m super smart and know many commands. I can’t wait to meet you!
Lisa’s original owner used to let her run loose around the neighborhood. A neighbor saved her from getting hit by a car. After that incident, the neighbor asked to keep her and reached out to for rescue. Lisa is great on a leash. She likes to ride in the car and hops in no problem. She enjoys retrieving balls and other toys, but also loves to be comfy inside and will hop up on the bed if she’s allowed!
Lisa is housetrained and has never had an accident. She just wants to be around her humans all the time. She doesn’t typically jump up on people or bark when seeing other dogs or people…she doesn’t even have a problem with the FedEx/UPS drivers! Lisa is afraid of gunshots or anything that sounds like them; she may also be fearful of storms since she doesn’t do well with loud noises. Lisa’s dream family would be one with a pool or a lake house as she’s definitely a water dog!
Medical Update: Lisa is heartworm positive. She will begin her heartworm treatment on 6/9. Unfortunately, CLR treats a staggering number of dogs for heartworm each year, which is why we require that all dogs are kept on a year-round heartworm prevention regiment. Lisa can still go home with you and your family, but will need to continue to be seen for treatment and lay low while she’s on the mend.
