4/25/2021 UPDATE: Lottie arrived safely to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Hi there…I’m Lottie! The volunteers at CLR are calling me “Little Lottie”, but I’m anything but little! I’m 4 years old and weigh in at 93lbs. I’m good with other dogs and so, so sweet. Won’t you take me home with you?
Lottie’s original owner went to jail, leaving this poor girl to live on the porch by herself for weeks. The neighbors were coming over to feed her, but eventually reported her circumstances and reached out for rescue help.
Lottie was a favorite at the shelter! She loves to relax and is going to be the best couch potato for someone. She is still learning to walk on a leash; she’ll follow after you if you call for her. She’s extremely sweet and very confused by all the change in her life. She loves attention and reassurance from humans. We can’t wait to get Lottie into a loving home where she’ll have the consistency she so clearly craves and deserves!
Medical Note: Lottie’s heartworm test came back positive. She can still go home with you and your family, but will need to continue to be seen for treatment and lay low while she’s on the mend. Lottie also had to have a few teeth extracted upon her arrival. CLR rescues hundreds of dogs each year, many of which come to us with medical needs. Unfortunately, we treat a staggering number of dogs for heartworm annually, which is why we require all dogs be kept up-to-date on year-round heartworm prevention.
