2/21/2021 UPDATE: Rina arrived safely to CLR yesterday. Check back soon for an update!
Hey there…I’m Rina! I’m five months old and weigh around 30lbs. I’m an energetic pup and LOVE to play with other dogs – I’m hoping my new family has a sibling at home to keep me company! If you tell me “hug” or “kissie” I’ll let you give me lots of hugs and kisses….it’s pretty darn cute!
Rina is a Lab/Golden Retriever mix who was owner surrendered to Montgomery County Animal Control in Tennessee. She’s still a puppy and had too much puppy energy for her owner’s older dog. Our volunteers who transported her said she’s so sweet but was extremely shy in the car. She felt more confident in her crate on the drive, but came around quickly!
Now that Rina is in foster in Cincinnati we’re seeing her personality come out more and more. She definitely does have the puppy energy her former owners owners eluded to, but she isn’t wild – she’s a playful, precious puppy. Our volunteers spent a considerable amount of time with her over the weekend and said she had a blast playing with her ball and positioned herself in the cutest posture! Rina is affectionate, sweet, and came running when called. Like all puppies, Rina still has some training needs: she does jump a bit at first, isn’t confident walking on a leash yet, and can be mouthy. None of this is outside of the norm for a young puppy. Overall, she is doing fantastic and we’re so proud of her!
Rina loves being outside and we think she’ll be a water dog, but she hasn’t had a chance to be introduced to the pool or lake yet. We’re sure this sweet girl will be home in no time, but for now, Rina is adjusting well and settling right in with her foster’s pack!
