Meet Rocky! He is a 1.5 year old, 110lb black lab that was surrendered after his owner could no longer care for him.
Personality: Rocky is a big, lovable boy who gets so excited when he hears his name! At 110 pounds with a large frame, he’s a lot of dog with a lot of love to give. Rocky loves meeting new people and his enthusiasm often shows — he’ll jump up to greet you if given the chance! While he’s working on keeping four paws on the ground, he’ll need continued training and reminders to mind his manners. Rocky is sweet, social, and ready to find a family who will match his energy and help him continue to grow into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.
Training: Rocky is learning leash manners and shows great promise! In the outdoor play area, he started to heel nicely with encouragement, and during walks in the parking lot, he tried to leave slack on the leash. However, when he catches an interesting scent, he may still pull and will benefit from ongoing leash work. Rocky also needs to lose some weight so a healthy diet and regular exercise will be important parts of his journey. With patience and consistency, Rocky will become a fantastic walking partner and loyal best friend.
