9/1/2021 UPDATE: Charlie arrived safely to CLR a few days ago. Check back soon for an update!
My name’s Charlie! I’m 2.5 years old and weigh 56lbs. I’ve been around all kinds of dogs: big dogs, little dogs…I love them all! I’m good on a leash and know how to “Sit” if you ask me to. I’m the best!
Charlie spent his entire life living outside on a chain. His owners’ grandchildren were shooting bottle rockets towards him. Naturally, this scared the life out of Charlie and resulted in him breaking loose. Charlie’s original family admitted they didn’t have much time for him, so the person who found him took him in. She has a boarding facility for dogs, which is where Charlie stayed until we were able to transport him to Cincinnati. Charlie rides well in the car; the volunteers who transported him said he laid right down. This boy has had a difficult start to life, but we know there’s a family out there that’s been waiting for him!
Medical Note: Charlie is Heartworm positive. Unfortunately, CLR treats a staggering number of dogs for Heartworm each year, which is why we require all dogs be kept up-to-date on Heartworm prevention. Charlie can still go home with you and your family but will need to continue to see the vet for treatment and lay low while he’s on the mend. If you’re interested in meeting Charlie but have questions about Heartworm, please email us at Info@CincinnatiLabRescue.org.
Cincinnati Lab Rescue is a 100% percent volunteer organization and depends on donations and adoption fees. Without this, we could not possibly sustain our organization. Thank you in advance! Donate Now
